It is really annoying.Īnother thing which has caused two days of frustration is when you want to put your own id tags (hash tags effectively) for blocks instead of having to use the auto-generated ones like 'content4-4c' or 'header 11-2' I wanted to put '22yearsinfrance' as an id for a block and could only do this via editing the output and project file in Atom.

Pity they can't update the software quietly behind the scenes to fix these bugs without having to wait for a whole new update. Mobirise says that they are aware of the problem. I tried every trick I could think of but none has worked. Nice try but I already thought of that and it doesn't work. You would think there would be an easy interim solution. You can try this, and I have no idea if it will work,īut if I remember right a normal escape is to useĪ "\" in front of the "&", like so "\&" below: Only, sometimes it appears that they break more than they fix.īut, I feel confident, that eventually they will get most of the bugs worked out! Just how long it is going to take is another issue. But I do see that the developers are hard at work. I'm not so sure I have the time to fix all of the bugs that this software creates. Support from the forum is mobirise's greatest asset, imho.ĭoing music and cds is far more important to me. This is the software that they used, so I am taking a long hard look at it, the developers, and support from the forum. I was offered $300 (free internet for six months) if I would do a certain company's website. I'm lazy and retired, and that's why I am here. I don't like that the browsers are constantly changing, so my problem is I'd also want to write my own browser, too! So, webdevelopment is something I have totally steered away from 100%. I know everything else other than those 3, and really those 3 aren't really that hard to master, honestly. Personally, other than not knowing html/cms/javascript, I'm not so sure that it's all that hard to do what the developers are doing. So we're stuck with what we have and if you look at this more closely, about 80% of this forum is pretty much about workarounds to bugs or much needed features. The coders didn't test this important feature like a bunch of others, probably because the Mobirise team is small, and they don't want to open the source for the community, many of whom are capable of adding features and fixes.

This is the price we pay for not coding these sites from scratch, so some manual intervention isn't necessarily a bad thing, as long as we are learning along the way.

If only they could take the code that does that here and put it into Mobirise, it would be fixed!!! NOTE: IN THE ABOVE TEXT I PUT A SPACE BETWEEN THE & and amp gtm as this blog editor turned the & amp (no space here also) back into a simple & so what I wrote seems to make no sense. Pity this software isn't open source as it is nice to use and there are many areas needing improvement. The convenient PUBLISH TO FTP option can't be used anymore. This works fine but is a nuisance because every small change you make to any html page requires jumping through the same set of hoops all over again.

I publish locally first to a folder on my PC, then use Atom to replace all instances of & amp gtm with just >m then ftp (with Filezilla in my case) the html files up to my web server. In fact I had already figured out a workaround using ATOM ( ),Ī very capable code editor which allows you to search and replace across the entire site.

On Windows10 you can wrangle some find+replace on the command line, or just download something like Brackets and do the mass find and replace by hand, which is actually a very short task. There are a few little niggles concerning escaped characters or tags, in some cases they make for a useful hack, other times it just becomes a nightmare to manage. Hi I think the best way to do it is just have a mass find and replace ready to go on a code editor and just add it in manually at production time.
